We
all prefer the convenience of a supermarket, that offers you everything you
need and all you have to do is pack up the stuff, fit in your car and off to
your house. What we don’t realize is that by buying food from such markets, you
are not supporting the efforts of local producers who have to deal with a loss
of being in such business.
Buying
food locally offers you with countless benefits, lets you sample your week’s
grocery from the right place. Buying locally grown food creates an important
economic opportunity, provides health benefits and also helps them reduce the
environmental impact. Not only this, but many people feel that buying food
which is locally produced tastes better and even lasts longer.
If
you choose to buy local food, then the Baytown Farmers
Market is one place that you should be. The
event includes local food, live music, food trucks, cottage foods, and handmade
goods. The market has the same vibe and feel of the Hallmark market where you
can come and support the local consumers, performers, artists, crafters, and
entrepreneurs.
Not
only this, but the admission into the event is completely free and everybody is
welcomed to attend. All you have to do is be there every 3rd of the month and
get to experience the culture of the market yourself. Not only do you support
the local economy while buying locally, but you also receive a pure product and
food in return.
